I have gutted animals, fed the legion
along side my brothers all
chewed through cloth, and leather
rope and sinew like water
I lay dormant within the folds of
white silken robes, listening to the
chattering of the soft ones bickering
amongst each other over land and title
I was there as they claimed the whole
of the earth as their own
I cried out as they used me to tear
away the love and trust of brothers.
I was there.
When Caesar was slain.
